Mzuni Elects New Student President

Mzuzu University student community on Tuesday held elections whose aim was to elect a new student union at the institution acronym ‘MUSREC’. The free and fair elections has seen  Limbani Chrispin Gama replacing Wazamazama Katatu as the president of the student body defeating other two contenders in a tight race. However according to the elections’ presiding officer Mr. Misheck Banda a lecturer and head of department for Mzuni Department of Languages and Literature the elections faced only one challenge rooted from faulty online system of voting which went abnormal forcing them to opt for a manual ballot paper as well as postponement of the voting day from Monday to Tuesday. The new student union is expected to be sworn in for office soon after the Christmas holiday and according to the Musrec constitution it is supposed to serve the student community for sixteen weeks.
